Grapes: 100% Nebbiolo
Viticulture:Sourced from Guido’s "home" vineyard in the Montestefano cru, arguably the most famous site in the Barbaresco commune. The vines are 50+ years old, rooted in deep, compact white marl with high limestone and clay content. This specific terroir is known for producing the most muscular and "Barolo-like" wines in the region.
Vinification: Traditional long maceration in small stainless steel tanks for 25–28 days. Guido uses a submerged-cap system to manage the powerful tannins of the Montestefano fruit, ensuring a slow and noble extraction of tannins and color.
Ageing: Aged for 18–22 months in seasoned, neutral French oak (various sizes). This extended ageing allows the robust structure of the Montestefano fruit to soften and integrate. It is bottled without filtration and rested for nearly a year before release.
Bottles produced: Extremely limited; part of the estate’s 18,000-bottle total.
Alcohol: 14.5% abv
Colour: Deep, concentrated garnet red with a solid core.
Nose: Dark and brooding. Intense aromas of black cherry, plum, and liquorice, intertwined with "darker" notes of tar, leather, crushed stones, and dried Mediterranean herbs.
Palate: Massive and architectural. This is a full-bodied Barbaresco with a core of dense, ripe fruit supported by assertive, high-quality tannins. It possesses incredible savory depth and a saline minerality that drives a finish lasting for minutes.
