Grapes: 100% Nebbiolo
Viticulture:Sourced from the prestigious Fausoni cru in the commune of Neive. The vineyard sits at approximately 250m elevation with a Southwest exposure. The soil is a classic "Tortoniano" mix of blue marl, clay, and sand, which lends the wine its signature perfume and silkier tannins.
Vinification: Fermentation takes place in small stainless steel vats with a long maceration period (20–25 days) at controlled temperatures. Guido utilizes the "submerged-cap" technique to ensure a steady, gentle extraction of color and polyphenols without over-extracting harsh tannins.
Ageing: Aged for approximately 16–18 months in neutral, used French oak barrels (barriques and tonneaux). This choice preserves the delicate floral character of the Fausoni terroir. The wine is then settled in stainless steel before resting in the bottle for several months.
Bottles produced: xtremely limited; part of the estate’s 18,000-bottle total. Fausoni is one of Guido's smallest single-vineyard bottlings.
Alcohol: 14.5% abv
Colour: Intense garnet with bright, translucent orange hues at the rim.
Nose: High-toned and aromatic. Explosive notes of wild strawberry, dried rose petals, and citrus peel, evolving into deeper scents of forest floor, sandalwood, and white pepper.
Palate: Precise and incredibly vibrant. The 2019 vintage provides a nervous energy and bright acidity that carries flavors of red cherry and balsamic herbs. The tannins are fine-grained and chalky, leading to a lingering, savory, and ethereal finish.
