Cascina Galarin

Monferrato Nebbiolo Superiore “Crocevia” 2019

Cascina Galarin Monferrato Nebbiolo Superiore “Crocevia” 2019 wine is meticulously crafted from carefully selected grapes sourced from historic vineyards. The wine undergoes a detailed process, and continues to evolve in our old underground cellar.

With a striking ruby red color, it offers intense aromas of dried roses, liquorice, spices, and truffles. The full-bodied palate features elegant, balanced tannins, making it perfect for pairing with rich dishes or aged cheeses. Enjoy this sophisticated wine on its own or elevate any occasion with its rich complexity.

  • Grapes: 100% Nebbiolo
Vineyards: Vigna Rorisso, 70/80 years old

Ageing:Following the above initial phase, the wine is transferred to 15hl barrels for an additional 12 months before bottling, which is done without any filtration during the waning moon. An extra aging period in the bottle takes place in the old underground cellar.
    Bottles produced: 2,300
    Alcohol:
     14% abv

  • Colour: Ruby red color, with a full and complex body
Nose: Intense aromas of dried roses, liquorice, spices, and truffles
Palate: Elegant with present yet balanced tannins, this wine undergoes exclusively natural decantation processes and may develop a slight sediment; therefore, the use of a decanter is recommended.

  • Cascina Galarin's story began in the late 1700s when the ancestors of the current owners built the estate stone by stone, creating part of the current winery and a beautiful wooden door featuring an intricately carved rooster. This rooster inspired the company logo: “Galarin,” a long-standing nickname for the family. In the late 1980s, Giuseppe Carosso joined the business, leading a significant shift in the winery's philosophy. Under his guidance, Cascina Galarin began bottling its wines and meticulously tending to the vineyards, ensuring that the varietals and terroir were respected during vinification and aging.

Today, Giuseppe is joined by his sons, Marco and Giovanni, who continue a family tradition that spans over two centuries. Committed to respecting nature and the environment, they believe that high-quality wine originates in the vineyard; therefore, they do not use herbicides or pesticides, promoting the growth of various herbs among the vines. Since the 2016 harvest, Cascina Galarin has been certified organic, cultivating some of the most important Piedmontese grape varieties, including Barbera, Moscato, Nebbiolo, Arneis, and Freisa, alongside Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
